You must own or occupy a single-family home, multi-family unit, or mobile home in North Carolina.
Your household income must be less than 150% of the Area Median Income (AMI) for your county.
You qualify for either the HOMES program (energy efficiency) or HEAR program (electrification & appliances), or both.
You stay in control of the process. LivSmart is the supporting contractor you select to complete your approved upgrades.
Complete your form and apply through Energy Saver North Carolina, then select LivSmart as your supporting contractor.
We verify your details and schedule a home energy assessment to determine which upgrades qualify.
As your supporting contractor, our certified team completes your upgrades at no cost, funded through Energy Saver North Carolina.

Yes. This program is funded through the federal Inflation Reduction Act
Home Energy Rebate Program. Qualified residents do not pay for equipment
or installation, 100% is covered by Energy Saver North Carolina.
What documents are required?
You will typically need to provide proof of income (tax returns or pay stubs), proof of residency (lease agreement or property tax bill), and a recent utility bill. Final document requirements are determined by the program as part of its review.
Do renters qualify?
Yes! Both homeowners and renters can qualify for Energy Saver North Carolina. Renters will need landlord approval for the upgrades to proceed.

No. LivSmart is not a government agency. We’re a supporting contractor that installs approved upgrades for residents qualifying through Energy Saver North Carolina.
