Find out if your Michigan household qualifies for energy-efficient upgrades through the MiHER program.
Are upgrades up to no cost in Michigan?
Approved households may receive equipment and installation covered through the MiHER program. Final eligibility is determined by the program through documentation and funding guidelines.
Is this a government program?
MiHER is a state program funded through state and federal initiatives. LivSmart is not a government agency. We’re a registered contractor that installs approved upgrades for residents approved through the MiHER program.
What documents are required?
MiHER eligibility is based on household income and verification of your Michigan primary residence. During your application through the MiHER program, you may be asked to provide proof of income documentation. Renters will require landlord approval. The MiHER program determines exactly which documents are accepted as part of its review.
How long does approval take?
Approval timelines are set by the MiHER program and vary depending on documentation review and funding availability.
Can both homeowners and renters take part?
Yes. Both homeowners and renters may qualify based on the resident’s household income. For rentals, the tenant’s income is used to determine eligibility, and the landlord will need to coordinate on the work.
